If you're using a loaner device for the Digital SAT, this guide explains where and how to get technical support before, during, and after the test. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth testing experience with your borrowed equipment.
Before Test Day
Requesting a Loaned Device
- Eligibility:
- If you do not have access to a suitable device, you can request a loaner during the SAT registration process.
- How to Request:
- Select the option “I don't know if I have access to the necessary device” during registration.
- After registration, the “Request a device” option will appear in your My SAT account.
- Complete the brief questionnaire, including an adult reference (such as a counselor or teacher).
- Timing:
- Submit your request at least 30 days before your test date to allow enough time for shipping and setup.
Device Setup
- Shipping & Configuration:
- Loaned devices are sent directly to your test center, pre-configured with the Bluebook™ testing app.
- Test Day Preparation:
- Arrive at the test center at least 30 minutes early to receive your device and complete the setup process, including logging into Bluebook and generating your admission ticket.
On Test Day
Technical Support at the Test Center
- Designated Assistance:
- Each test center has a technology monitor and an on-site help room to manage any technical issues.
- What to Do:
- If you experience problems (such as issues launching Bluebook or connectivity problems), contact the technology monitor immediately.
- They are trained to troubleshoot common issues and may initiate a device swap if needed.
Device Swap Procedure
- When Swap is Necessary:
- If your device fails before or during the test and troubleshooting doesn't resolve the issue.
- How It Works:
- The technology monitor will provide you with a backup device.
- Use the Bluebook app’s “Resume Testing” feature to continue your exam.
- Important Note:
- Device swaps should only be conducted during testing time. Post-test swaps may result in loss of recorded answers.
After the Test
Answer Submission Issues
- Connectivity Concerns:
- If connectivity issues arise at the end of the test and your answers are not submitted automatically, remain at the test center.
- Resolution Process:
- A technology monitor will help reconnect the device to the internet to ensure your answers are submitted.
- If immediate submission is impossible, you may be instructed to finalize the submission after reconnecting later.
