SAT Scores

This guide details the components of your Digital SAT score report, enabling you to read and interpret every section with clarity. Designed for SAT Sphere users, this resource covers score details, performance indicators, and streamlined components to help you identify strengths and areas for improvement.

Key Components of the Score Report

1. Total Score

  • Range: 400–1600
  • Calculation: The total score is the sum of your Reading and Writing section score and your Math section score.

2. Section Scores

  • Reading and Writing: 200–800
  • Math: 200–800
These scores provide a clear measure of your performance in each major section of the test.

3. Percentile Ranks

  • User Percentile: This indicates the percentage of test-takers you outperformed. For example, a percentile rank of 86 means you scored higher than 86% of students.

4. Knowledge and Skills Breakdown

The report divides each section into specific content areas, providing deeper insight into your performance:

Reading and Writing

  • Information and Ideas
  • Craft and Structure
  • Expression of Ideas
  • Standard English Conventions

Math

  • Algebra
  • Advanced Math
  • Problem-Solving and Data Analysis
  • Geometry and Trigonometry

For each content area, the report displays:

  • The number of questions in that area
  • The percentage of the section covered
  • Visual indicators that help interpret your performance

This detailed breakdown enables you to pinpoint specific strengths and areas needing improvement.

5. Career Insights Snapshot

For students who take the SAT in the U.S., the score report includes a snapshot of growing careers in your state that align with your performance. This feature is intended to connect academic strengths with potential career paths.

What’s No Longer Included in the Report

The Digital SAT score report has been streamlined to focus on the most critical information. The following components have been removed:

  • Test Scores: Previously ranged from 10–40 for individual tests.
  • Cross-Test Scores: Assessed skills across multiple tests.
  • Subscores: Detailed scores for specific skill areas.
  • College Readiness Benchmarks: Indicators of college preparedness.

These changes simplify the report, ensuring that students and educators have a clear, focused overview of performance.
