Founded in 1886, Alma College enrolls approximately 1,235 undergraduates on its 125‑acre campus and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA), the college offers more than 45 undergraduate programs and four master’s degree programs across arts, sciences, business, music, and education. Known for its Scottish heritage, Alma hosts the largest college Highland Games in North America and offers unique programs such as the Presidential Honors Program and the Center for College and Community Engagement. Through fall 2025, first‑year applicants with a high school GPA of 2.75 or higher may be admitted without submitting SAT or ACT scores; all other applicants are encouraged to submit test scores to bolster their application. Standardized test scores may also be used for English proficiency or placement, and applicants may submit TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo scores for English proficiency.
