Fix common device issues for the Digital SAT.
Digital Device Requirements
Technical issues can happen, but knowing how to troubleshoot common problems can help you stay calm and focused on test day. This guide provides practical solutions to the most frequent challenges students may encounter before and during the Digital SAT, based on College Board resources.
Issue:
The Bluebook app becomes unresponsive or crashes during use.
Solution:
Restart the Bluebook app. If the problem continues, reboot your device and reopen Bluebook. Additionally, close any other applications running in the background to free up system resources.
Issue:
Loss of internet connection during the test.
Solution:
The Bluebook app is engineered to manage temporary outages. If you lose connectivity, you can continue testing without immediate disruption. In the event the connection remains down at the end of the test, you will have until 11:59 p.m. local time the following day to reconnect and submit your answers.
Issue:
Difficulty signing in to the Bluebook application.
Solution:
Verify that you are using the correct login credentials. If you have forgotten your password, click the "Forgot Password" link to reset it. Also, check that your device’s date and time settings are accurate.
Issue:
Your scheduled test does not appear in Bluebook or your accommodations seem to be missing.
Solution:
Contact your test coordinator immediately. They can update your registration details or consult with the College Board to correct any discrepancies.
Issue:
Your device fails during the test, and you must switch to another device.
Solution:
Use the Bluebook device swap feature. Sign in on the new device, and your proctor will approve the swap through the Test Day Toolkit. It is important to complete any device swap before your testing time has ended to avoid data loss.
Issue:
After completing the exam setup, you do not receive an admission ticket.
Solution:
Confirm that all steps in the exam setup process have been fully completed. If the admission ticket still does not appear, contact your test coordinator promptly for assistance.
Issue:
Encountering technical issues during the test that you cannot resolve independently.
Solution:
Raise your hand to alert the proctor. You may be directed to a help room where a technology monitor can assist you by following the Technical Troubleshooting Guide.
By familiarizing yourself with these common issues and their corresponding solutions, you can approach the Digital SAT with increased confidence and preparedness. Regularly updating your device, testing your setup ahead of test day, and knowing how to quickly resolve or seek help for technical problems will help ensure that you are ready to perform at your best.
