Formed by the 1971 merger of St. Benedict's College (founded 1858) and Mount St. Scholastica College (founded 1923), Benedictine College enrolls approximately 2,126 students and is sponsored by St. Benedict's Abbey and Mount St. Scholastica Monastery. Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, the college offers over 50 undergraduate majors in liberal arts and professional fields and is known for its vibrant campus life, service‑learning focus, and NAIA athletics as the Ravens within the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
