Founded in 1908 as a school for women, USAO is Oklahoma’s only public liberal arts college and a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges. The college enrolls approximately 825 students and features a required 46‑hour Interdisciplinary Studies Core Curriculum culminating in a senior capstone project. USAO offers 22 undergraduate majors across four divisions and emphasizes small class sizes and close faculty‑student collaboration. The USAO Drovers compete in the NAIA’s Sooner Athletic Conference, and the historic campus is designated as a National Historic District.

Domestic freshman applicants must submit a combined SAT score of at least 1060 (Critical Reading + Math) or an ACT composite score of 24 to meet freshman admission requirements. International applicants may choose to submit SAT or ACT scores, but these are not required.
