URI operates a test‑optional admissions policy: SAT or ACT scores are not required for first‑year or transfer applicants but are encouraged for scholarship consideration. Applicants who submit scores must send them electronically (SAT code 3919, ACT code 3818); URI superscores across all test dates. Certain programs, such as teacher education, have basic competency SAT sub‑score requirements (Reading/Writing 480, Math 530). International applicants may submit SAT/ACT for scholarship eligibility but are not required.
