Founded in 1954 as Coastal Carolina Junior College, CCU enrolls over 11,200 students and offers more than 80 bachelor’s, 40 master’s, and 17 doctoral programs across nine colleges. Its 630‑acre campus features Collegiate Gothic and modern facilities, and CCU is classified among R2 doctoral universities for high research activity.
