Founded in 1923 by Henry Clay Morrison as part of Asbury College, Asbury Theological Seminary became an independent institution in 1940 and is now the largest seminary of the Wesleyan‑Holiness movement. Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Association of Theological Schools, ATS offers master’s and doctoral programs in biblical studies, theology, pastoral ministry, and counseling. The seminary serves over 1,700 students at its Kentucky campus and extension sites in Florida, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and online. Asbury emphasizes rigorous scholarship, spiritual formation, and practical ministry skills within the historical Methodist tradition.

Asbury Theological Seminary’s graduate admissions do not use SAT or ACT scores; instead, applicants submit official undergraduate transcripts, a statement of purpose, pastoral recommendations, and may undergo an interview. Admission focuses on academic performance, vocational calling, and church endorsements.
