SAT Scores are required for some programs
This university requires SAT Scores for some programs.
Appalachian State University implements a test waiver for first‑year applicants with a weighted high school GPA of 2.8 or above, making SAT or ACT scores optional for these students; however, applicants with a weighted GPA below 2.8 are required to self‑report test scores and submit official scores upon enrollment. There is no disadvantage for students who waive standardized tests for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 admission; test scores may be considered for scholarship eligibility if provided.
Note: Some programs or scholarships may still recommend or require SAT scores. Always verify the latest admission criteria on the official university website.
