What are the main differences between the SAT and AP courses?
The SAT is a standardized exam that measures general academic readiness across Math, Evidence-Based Reading, and Writing, scored on a scale of 400 to 1600. AP courses, in contrast, are college-level classes offered in specific subjects like Mathematics, Sciences, Humanities, and Languages that culminate in AP exams scored from 1 to 5. While the SAT provides a broad assessment of critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, AP courses focus on demonstrating subject-specific expertise and mastery at a college level.
