Founded in 1850 as the University of Deseret, the University of Utah now enrolls 35,236 students (fall 2023) and offers over 100 undergraduate and 90 graduate programs across 17 colleges on its 1,534-acre Salt Lake City campus. Classified among R1: Doctoral Universities, it hosts branch campuses in Incheon (Asia Campus), Sandy, and St. George, and fields NCAA Division I teams known as the Utes in the Big 12 Conference.
