UTHSC is the state’s only public academic health science center and enrolls around 3,121 students across six colleges: Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Health Professions, and Graduate Health Sciences. Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and professional bodies (LCME, ACPE, CCNE), UTHSC emphasizes research with nearly $100 million in NIH funding, clinical training through affiliations with major hospitals, and community health outreach. Its 41‑acre urban campus in Memphis, adjacent to the medical district, includes the Hamilton Eye Institute and the Cancer Research Building. UTHSC also administers residency programs at Chattanooga, Knoxville, and Nashville campuses.
SAT Scores are not accepted
This university does not accept SAT Scores.
As a graduate and professional health sciences institution, UTHSC does not consider SAT or ACT scores for admission. Instead, applicants must submit scores from relevant exams—MCAT for Medicine, DAT for Dentistry, GRE for Graduate Health Sciences, and program‑specific assessments for other colleges.
