Founded in 1889 under the Morrill Act and accredited by NWCCU, U of I is Idaho’s flagship campus offering over 90 undergraduate and 150 graduate programs across 10 colleges. Classified “R1: Very High Research Activity,” it enrolls more than 11,500 students on its 1,585-acre campus and operates extension centers statewide. Renowned for oceanography, astronomy, and engineering research, the Vandals compete in NCAA Division I FCS athletics.

Applicants with a high school GPA of 3.00 or above are admitted test-optional; those with GPA between 2.60–2.99 must submit ACT or SAT scores; Idaho residents with ISAT Level 3 on Math and Literacy tests qualify regardless of GPA; GPA below 2.30 may appeal. International applicants are exempt from SAT/ACT requirements.
