Public school in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada
Founded in 1970 as Cariboo College and renamed Thompson Rivers University in 2005, TRU enrolls over 27,700 students (including on-campus and online learners) across its Kamloops main campus and multiple regional centres. It offers approximately 140 on-campus programs and 60 distance-education programs organized into five faculties and three professional schools, including business, nursing, law, and trades & technology. TRU’s 250-acre main campus overlooks the confluence of the North and South Thompson rivers, features the largest arboretum in BC’s Interior, and includes several LEED-Gold certified buildings. With a 16:1 student-faculty ratio, TRU emphasizes experiential learning, research opportunities, and Indigenous engagement.

This university does not accept SAT Scores.
Admission is based on completion of British Columbia secondary-school prerequisites or equivalent post-secondary credits, with rolling admissions in most programs. Standardized tests such as the SAT or ACT are neither required nor considered for domestic, U.S., or international applicants; all are evaluated on their academic credentials and English proficiency.
