Founded in 1946 as Triple Cities College to serve returning World War II veterans, Binghamton University is one of SUNY’s four university centers and is classified among R1: Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity. As of fall 2024, total enrollment stands at 18,815 students (14,688 undergraduate; 4,147 postgraduate) on a 930‑acre campus in Vestal, New York. The university comprises six academic colleges—including Harpur College of Arts & Sciences and the School of Management—offering over 130 undergraduate majors and more than 150 graduate and professional programs. Known as a “Public Ivy” for rigorous academics and distinguished faculty, Binghamton supports NCAA Division I athletics as the Bearcats.
