Founded in 1971 by Daisaku Ikeda of the Soka Gakkai Buddhist movement, Soka University is a non-sectarian institution open to all students. It has a strong international focus with a vast network of partner universities and a high percentage of international students. Soka University's SAT policy is program-specific. For its Japanese-taught programs, the EJU is required. However, for its English-medium programs (such as the Faculty of International Liberal Arts and the Faculty of Science and Engineering), applicants must submit standardized test scores.
