SMU does not require SAT or ACT scores for admission to its programs. Instead, admissions decisions are based on program‑specific prerequisites, academic performance, and required standardized assessments such as the HESI A2 for nursing programs, the GRE for nurse anesthesia, and the MCAT for podiatric medicine. For BSN applicants, a SAT Math score of 600 or ACT Math score of 26 may be used to meet college algebra prerequisites in lieu of a course, but students may also complete college algebra to satisfy this requirement.
