Founded in 1968, Capilano University (CapU) enrolls 3,473 full‑time equivalent students across campuses in North Vancouver, Squamish, Sechelt, and Mount Currie. Recognized under British Columbia’s University Act and accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, CapU comprises five faculties—Arts & Sciences, Business, Education, Fine & Applied Arts, and Health & Human Development—offering bachelor’s degrees, diplomas, and certificates. The university is known for its small class sizes, hands‑on learning approach, and vibrant student life, with varsity teams called the Capilano Blues competing in PACWEST. CapU is also listed among the top young universities by Times Higher Education.

Admission is based on completion of BC Grade 12 (or equivalent) courses with a minimum 60% average; standardized tests such as the SAT or ACT are neither required nor considered.
