Founded in 1892 as part of the Brown Mackie system, Brown Mackie College offered associate, bachelor’s, and certificate programs across fields like health sciences, business, IT, and education through multiple campuses nationwide. The system faced legal and financial challenges and closed most campuses in 2016–2017 when its parent company restructured and sold remaining campuses to the Dream Center Foundation. Accredited by national bodies such as ACCET and ACICS, Brown Mackie served over 7,700 students at its peak before ceasing operations in 2017.
