Chartered in 1903 as Texas’s oldest associate degree nursing program, BSHP evolved into a baccalaureate and master’s‑degree‑granting institution offering AAS degrees in Nursing, Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Surgical Technology, and a BS in Healthcare Management. Located in the South Texas Medical Center at 8400 Datapoint Drive, the school is accredited by ABHES and programmatically by ACEN and ACME. BSHP emphasizes hands‑on clinical training in partnership with Baptist Health System hospitals, preparing students for licensure exams such as NCLEX‑RN and ARRT with high first‑time pass rates. Small cohort sizes and dedicated faculty foster a student‑centered learning environment focused on leadership and service.

This university does not accept SAT Scores.
As an allied health institution, BSHP does not consider SAT or ACT scores for admission. Applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED, complete prerequisite coursework (e.g., Anatomy & Physiology I & II, Microbiology) with a minimum 2.0 GPA, and achieve the required score on the TEAS exam. International students must also demonstrate English proficiency via TOEFL or IELTS. Admissions decisions are based on academic transcripts, prerequisite completion, and TEAS performance.
