Founded in 1978, the American University of the Caribbean (AUC) School of Medicine is one of the oldest and most established international medical schools. Its students, primarily from the US and Canada, complete their basic sciences curriculum in Sint Maarten before proceeding to clinical rotations at affiliated hospitals in the United States and the United Kingdom. AUC is accredited by the Accreditation Commission on Colleges of Medicine (ACCM).
